He was 70. A statement provided by his family reads: “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.” A reality television series about Money and his family, “Real Money,” had aired on AXS TV starting in April. It chronicled his life at home and with his family, revealing his health struggles. Money made his own in the Bay Area where he performed at the city’s clubs regularly. A star of MTV’s formative years, during which he starred in a series of comedic music videos, he saw major chart success with such songs as “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise” and in 1986 “Take Me Home Tonight”, a duet with Ronnie Spector, which was a radio hit. He was signed to Columbia Records and released 11 albums throughout his career.

I am still numb of this life changing event which occurred 3 1/2 years ago. God Bless you Eddie, Thank you for so many decades of music. Will spin some of your catlg this w/e as a tribute.

Wikipedia says: Quote: On August 24, 2019, Money, a long-time smoker, revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He died from complications from heart valve surgery at the hospital in Los Angeles on September 13, 2019, at age 70. I'm sure his body had been weakened by the cancer and that added to it. Anyway, I'm glad most of his catalog has been remastered. I bought all of them. I enjoyed his music for years and will continue to do so. He had a unique voice. It was perfect for the music he made.

I as well Mark. Rock Candy had a bundle sale years back and I bought them. Definitely some of this will be on my W/E play list. Rock on Eddie!
