:ohyes: This is what I was talking about, but couldn't put the comparisons in place. There's also Star Wars tropes (Skeletor was secretly Adam's ...uncle? Was that it?), and the whole Duncan/Teela/Sorceress relationship. Plenty of juicy character stuff to play with there.

And I always was hoping they would rip off Planet of the Apes, and have Adam's mother discover she was actually on Earth the whole time. :)

I’m sure it’ll be 2 years late.

But I can’t wait for the episode where Man at Arms throws a party with a donkey show.

That was one of the original ideas, that it was a post-apocalyptic world.

Junkie spotted this and put it in Doot's Smallville thread. I'll crosspost it here in the general TV thread:

Tom Welling to reprise Smallville role for Arrowverse's 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover

I read the first TPB's worth of that just the other day. Some weird, wild stuff there. I like to think Jack Kirby would have been proud.

Amazing how even the "bad" ideas Kirby had for Marvel are being mined these days. Not too long ago, and probably still to some degree, Devil Dinosaur was held up as proof that Kirby had lost it by the end of his career.

When I was seven, Devil Dinosaur was my second favourite comic (after Godzilla).

I've read the complete run of Devil Dinosaur. I think it's a good example to support the argument that Kirby was an un-equaled idea machine (visual and names and concepts), but tended to founder without a writer to collaborate with.

I like the idea of Devil Dinosaur way more than reading the Devil Dinosaur comic books.

I really enjoyed them myself, which surprised me. I only bought it because it was in the discount bin and was Kirby.

That’s how I feel about Vampirella (except for that awesome Archie Goodwin run).
