Description
Special Limited Deluxe Collector's Edition / Fully remastered sound shaped from 24 bit digital technology / Features Fast Eddie Clarke (Motorhead) and Jerry Shirley (Humble Pie) / 16 page full colour booklet - 3,500 word essay, enhanced artwork, memorabilia, rare photos and quotes from Fast Eddie Clarke.

When guitarist 'Fast' Eddie Clarke left Motörhead in 1982, few would have expected him to go on to eclipse the success of his former band. Motörhead, although hugely successful as a live act and feverishly lauded in the UK media, had not enjoyed significant record sales in North America; not unsurprising considering the raw ferocity of their sound. For Clarke this was an opportunity to take stock and build a musical outfit that could break into that market with a far more wide screen approach. It was a smart move as Fastway's debut album struck gold in the USA, elevating their profile far beyond Motörhead's niche appeal. Surrounding himself with a mixture of well-respected band members, including former Humble Pie drummer Jerry Shirley, ex-Taste bassist Charlie McCracken and, sparkling new discovery, Irish vocalist Dave King, the band immersed themselves in blues rock but with a contemporary edge. It was a sound that won much respect and fit in nicely with the emerging commercial interest in hard rock. Continuing their progress they recorded 'All Fired Up', a record that stylistically mirrored the band's debut album and was produced once again by industry legend Eddie Kramer (Kiss, Hendrix, Humble Pie) who had so successfully guided the previous record. Issued in July 1984, 'All Fired Up' was positively received, getting off to a good start and attracting rave reviews. The album boasts a selection of tough, no-nonsense tracks, including such gems as 'Steal The Show', 'Tell Me', 'If You Could See' and the title track. It was a record that further enhanced Fastway's reputation as one of the best bands of the 80s.

Great news, as I've been waiting for this one for many years.

Rock Candy did a great job with the debut which also had a ton of bonus tracks.

This wasn't a bad album, perhaps more Bluesy than people expected and the writing was cliched.

I saw Fastway open for Iron Maiden in 1983 and man, for a brief moment they looked like the next big thing in Hard Rock.

I'll be getting this for sure as well. Excellent band, original members still here for this second release.
Having the Rock Candy for the first album this latest reissue is an auto-purchase.

The first Fastway CD on Rock Candy, from 2012, is surprisingly still in print:

I never heard this album. I bought the first one on **cough** cassette when it came out. Of course, I bought RC remaster.

What's this album like?

Same as the debut, but they had run out of ideas and pretty much recycled riffs.

A few tunes go towards the Blues, and it's actually a decent album.

"Tell Me" and "All Fired Up" were the songs on radio and MTV for a short while that summer.

It is nowhere near the debut however, and everything that followed this was garbage.

i recall fastway being touted as the next led zeppelin when they first came on the scene, which helped that first record sell pretty well.

needless to say they were not the next led zeppelin, hence i don't even remember the second album.

There have been so many next Led Zeppelins that the next next Led Zeppelin will actually be Led Zeppelin again.

You had Fast Eddie Clarke from Motorhead, Pete Way from UFO, Jerry Shirley from Humble Pie and Dave King on vocals.

What a band.

Way had to leave since he was still tied to Chrysalis Records and joined Ozzy's band (which was a disaster as Way was strung out on heroin and Ozzy was Ozzy) and did so without even telling anyone; he just left.

Some guy I've never heard of named Mickey Feat played bass on the first album (uncredited) and then they hired Alfie Ageus (not sure how to spell that!) formerly of The Fixx and then finally Charlie McCracken who had been with Taste.

That's when I saw them in '83 and they were a throwback to 70s Hard Rock.

There wasn't a loft of that around at the time and it was great.

That first album fell just shy of going Gold.

All Fired Up tried to repeat the formula, but it fell short.

I think this album will be better than I recalled.
