Long-awaited 2-on-1 CD edition of acclaimed singer-songwriter Valerie Carter’s two Columbia solo albums – “Just A Stone’s Throw Away” (1977) and “Wild Child” (1978). Includes bonus track ‘Let’s Be Lovers Again’ – her 1980 hit duet with Eddie Money.

The late great Valerie Carter was a singer’s-singer – who through her career sang backup for everyone from James Taylor and Jimmy Webb to Willie Nelson and Neil Diamond as well as a hit songwriter for Judy Collins and Jackson Browne.

A lost classic of post Laurel Canyon Americana, “Just A Stone’s Throw Away” features her warm, soulful cover of the Five Stairsteps’ ‘Ooh Child’ and a stellar supporting cast including Linda Ronstadt, Maurice White (Earth Wind & Fire), Lowell George (Little Feat), Jackson Browne, Deniece Williams and more.

The slick LA-rock orientated “Wild Child” includes the mellow west coast groove ‘Da Doo Rendezvous’ and a who’s-who of top session players including Steve Lukather, Jeffrey & Steve Porcaro (Toto) and Jay Graydon.

20 page booklet includes lyrics, photos and new essay by project-producer/ex-Attitude editor Adam Mattera.

if you are catalog on valerie carter, this is unnecessary, however, if you are new to her, or have never been indoctrinated to her beautiful voice, i highly recommend this set. both of her first 2 albums are on here (not counting howdy moon) and the eddie money hit.
