He and Willie Nelson (86 yrs old) could tour together. Can't think of a funny name for their tour, but sure there is one out there.

He probably won't have the same energy in thirty years.

How about the “Octogenarians on Oxygen Tour”?

There have been a relatively small number of musicians who totally changed my life. Ian was one of them. I'll never forget the time I first heard a Mott cover: I was vacationing in Bend, Oregon at the tender age of 13. A local band called "The Whizz Kids" were playing Rock & Roll Queen at a street dance. I was floored. I asked them who did the original. They said Mott, & I've been a HUGE fan ever since.

I was fortunate to see an early part of "The Hoople" tour in a small theater before the big production was added (the production would have been cool too; I'm just saying I was fortunate to see them!). I think admission was $5.00,. I was pretty close to the stage. They were advertised as "The Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the World". And maybe, just maybe............... they were.

I also saw the Hunter/Ronson YI Orta tour up close in a club.

Happy 80, Ian!
