Description
Kiki Dee is one of the great UK soul singers. She was the first female singer from the UK to sign with Motown Tamla Records, has been a backing vocalist for Dusty Springfield and she's been produced by and signed to Elton's Rocket Records label. Best known for her hits 'I've Got The Music In Me' and 'Don't Go Breaking my Heart' (with Elton John). The latter saw Kiki occupy the UK #1 single spot for six week in 1976 and #1 in the US with over 1 million copies sold. Further success came with singles 'Chicago' and 'First Thing in the Morning'. This 3CD Kiki Dee Gold compilation brings together, for the first time, her entire career spanning various labels.

One of the things that makes the recent "Rocket Years" compilation attractive to me is the inclusion of this track, but I wasn't sure if I wanted 5CD box set, even if it's a bargain at around $35 that some third-parties are selling it for. This "Gold" collection has 45 tracks and is currently listed at $12.99 on Amazon US.

That's the digital edition at Amazon UK. The 3CD set hasn't been put up for pre-order there yet, but will be at this URL when it appears:

The CD tracklist will be the same as the digital that Momo found, including "Snow Queen".

Awesome!! Same here! I have all 5 Rocket albums on CD already, so the only track I wanted on the box set was "Snow Queen." Not paying $35+ for it, but I would gladly pay $13 (especially if there are pre- or post-Rocket songs included as well).

I just did a quick side-by-side track comparison with my 5-disc "Original Album Series" set which covers the 5 Rocket albums. This set actually has 27 songs (out of 45) that do not appear on that set (not counting "Don't Go Breaking My Heart"). Even more of an incentive to purchase now.

Thanks for doing that work, Actorman! I thought that, if I really liked "Gold" enough, I might go ahead and get the "Rocket Years" or the "Original Album Series."

Been listening to this a lot since it arrived. Since I only knew a couple songs, and was completely unfamiliar with her earlier work, this set has been quite eye-opening for me.
