Description
The Essential Moody Blues 3 CD covers the band's career from their early days on Decca starting in 1967 through to their time on Polydor in the 1980s. Features many of their hit singles including 'Nights In White Satin', 'Ride My See-Saw', 'Question', 'I'm Just A Singer In A Rock 'n' Roll Band' and 'Blue World' as well as single B-sides and key album tracks.

haven't they already had 2 (or is it 3) box sets and umpteen best of's?

i can't imagine that they still sell that well.

Spectrum is a budget subsidiary for a major label that does nothing but comps.

It costs them little to put these comps out so they don't need to sell much.

The Moody Blues are touring this summer performing the "Days of Future Passed" album in its entirety celebrating the 50th anniversary of the record. Spectrum may be releasing this best-of to take advantage of it.

Never, hon. Never, never, ever.

As compilations go, the Spectrum 3CD Essential series has been pretty good. Three discs allows for all the hits and plenty of deep cuts. For a serious Moody Blues collector, though, I doubt there'll be much of interest here.

Are these sets remastered or compilations using previous versions. I own all the Moodies I need but am interested in the label mastering strategy.

All of Spectrum/Universal's budget compilations use the most recent remastering of each track (at the time of release).
