In 1973, The Eagles released their second album – an album that announced the arrival of a major new talent in the field of country rock music. In this unique re-appraisal, the legendary broadcaster Bob Harris takes us back in time to Los Angeles in the seventies – the place and time that provided the backdrop for the The Eagles’ sound. In addition, the programme features analysis by a team of respected music journalists and rock critics, who highlight the strengths of an album featuring such peerless tracks as Tequila Sunrise, Outlaw and the much-covered title song. The key tunes are analysed and deconstructed to explain why they have achieved classic status. These standout features are complemented by superb performance footage of the band in their seventies heyday plus informative interviews with author and journalist Barney Hoskyns. There are also outstanding contributions by Peter Doggett, author of Are You Ready For The Country and biographer Johnny Rogan.

THE DVD FEATURES HIGHLIGHTS FROM:
• Doolin Dalton
• Twenty One
• Out Of Control
• Tequila Sunrise
• Desperado
• Certain Kind Of Fool and more...

As fine as the original "Desperado" song is, I must also recommend the sensitive cover version by Langley Schools Music Project.

This will be worth watching, but I wish they'd done Hotel California instead.

Anyone notice that they used a wrong Eagles group photo for the DVD cover art?
(The photo used was from The Long Run era, circa 1979 or so.)

Only Don Henley and Glenn Frey were incolved with Desperado, released in 1973.
Don Felder, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit had absolutely nothing to do with the Desperado album and weren't even in the band at that time.
Very odd choice of photo.

That version is absolutely heartbreaking. My favorite cut on that album.

My guess is that this is another unauthorized release and whoever was in charge of designing the cover art didn't know or didn't care what the lineup was.

That is pretty bad.

I agree, I also think it's their best, & by a wide margin.

I was a big Eagles fan back in the 70's, but now Desperado and maybe a few tunes from the first album are about all I ever care to hear.
