Yuck, I can't say I like that single at all. I thought they hit their stride again with "Everything Will Be Alright in the End," which isn't as good as their "classic" stuff, but still a nice return to form after three "meh" albums in a row. Pacific Daydream was also decent but creeping back into that poppy sound again... if the rest of the album sounds like this, I'll have to skip "Black".

The comments in this thread in this thread so far ... wow. Maybe Weezer should have coloured this album Lemon.
Hah! Perfect. I have to admit, most of their music since Pinkerton (one of my favorite albums of all time) haven't done much for me. But I couldn't even listen to this complete song.

Well look at this—Weezer just released a surprise new album. It’s another new self-titled album, but this one’s called Weezer (The Teal Album). It features covers of songs by TLC, Michael Jackson, Black Sabbath, a-ha, Electric Light Orchestra, and of course, their version of Toto’s “Africa.” Listen below via Crush/Atlantic. They’re also selling Teal Album velcro wallets.
Weezer were already getting ready to release a new album. Their next album of original material is The Black Album, and it’s out March 1. The album will include the previously released singles “Zombie Bastards” and “Can’t Knock the Hustle.” Their last LP, Pacific Daydream, came out in 2017.
1.Africa 2.Everybody Wants to Rule the World 3.Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) 4.Take on Me 5.Happy Together 6.Paranoid 7.Mr. Blue Sky 8.No Scrubs 9.Billie Jean 10.Stand by Me

I think it’s a pretty fun thing to do, though I wish they would have made the songs sound more distinct from the original versions... something more like the “Punk Goes” series of albums.
