Description
An homage to the great songs by '70s pop culture fixture, Paul Williams. He's won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and several Grammys. He's had his songs performed by a range of artists, from The Carpenters and Barbara Streisand to The Monkees and The Muppets, to David Bowie and Daft Punk. It's an amazing career, more than worthy of a tribute.

I bought when it was released and have been playing it non-stop. As far as tribute albums go, I feel this is one of the strongest. Partly because many of his songs were already interpretations, but also the sincere love each artist seems to have for the song they recorded. Nice selection of songs with some interesting deep cuts too.

a sad essay on my totally being out of touch with new music, i have not even heard of one single artist on this album. and that most likely not a good thing.

"the rich keep getting richer and the rest of us just keep getting old"

It's an excellent tribute album and a great way to become familiar with some fine "new" artists. The album's on Bandcamp, too, where you can hear the complete songs.

I'm familiar with a handful of the artists, but have found a few I need to look deeper into. For instance, The New Empire's version of Special To Me blew me away. I would like to hear more from them.

Same with me, only familiar with less than half the artists. I hunted down the Corner Laughers on Bandcamp & am picking up their album from a few years ago.

This looks good. Very pleased to see songs from "The Muppet Movie" included, but was really hoping to see at least one from "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas." There are a bunch of great covers of "Barbeque" on YouTube.
