My question (and irritation) is why waste all the time and energy to just release this in the current form (CD & vinyl).... and then limit the set to start with.

I was jamming to my Toto discs this weekend on my Xmas road trip. I'm thinking that I'll pass even if this set comes to fruition as a CD-only set. My copies are mostly Japanese releases and they're damn good sonically.

Unfortunately I've just about given up on this.

I only have Hydra, Turn Back and IV in my collection currently. Had the first album and Isolation on vinyl back in the 80s and have concluded that I need to add them to my collection.

I would kind of like to check out a remaster as I found the early CBS/Columbia CDs to be hit and miss (seems to me the Toto ones I have are pretty good, but I did not like the first issues of the early Aerosmith albums on CD and they still haven't gotten the Judas Priest albums right yet). Best I can tell from the all-important, best music resource ever on the internet, the ever reliable and trusty DR database, both of the collections linked above use the original CD mastering.

Lukather has about 2 months to announce the All In box as a CD only release and get me to bite at a higher price tag (I'd guess something like $80-$100). If it doesn't happen then, I'll pay ~$25 for one of the above collections (currently would be the 8 disc'er as that is cheaper than the 5 disc'er) and probably be done with Toto's back catalog forever. Clock is ticking.

I got all the Rock Candy remasters that covered the debut to The Seventh One.

They all sound very good and have tons of liner notes and interviews.

All the other albums I bought new and don't need to replace.

I'm reading his book as well.

It's OK.

Not very involving as he decided to play it safe mostly and played down the drug angle.

Lots of tidbits about those sessions and some good stuff about his son and the loss of numerous people in his life.

Started with lots of info on Toto's music but that disappeared as it went along.

An easy read, but kinda average to be honest.

Saw this link at the Hoffman board and really debated if I wanted to post it here for "legitimacy" purposes, but what the hell. Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be a CD only release of this collection yet.

For those who don't want to look up the conversion rate, the price is approximately 84 USD.

If that turns out to be real, it won't be necessary to order it from Denmark.

(Although I'd love to know how Mark would react to a Denmark-only release.)

Also, they put out a new BR/DVD of their recent tour (also with a 2-CD version). So far, everything I've seen is imports and crazy prices.

Linda, the Amazon Germany page lists a May 24, 2019 release date...the same release date as listed on the imusic website. The other Amazon links have 2018 release dates. Combine the $84 dollar price tag from the imusic site plus the same release date appearing on two different sites....one of them an Amazon site....it's a fairly decent indication that a CD only box set is on the way. I'm really hoping to see it.

This is now being released as a CD-only set because too many people were (rightfully) complaining. But from what I saw over at Hoffman, it's being sold via some Danish site. Why? Just..... why?

If a CD only box set is issued, it will not be a "Danish exclusive." It's just the first site that has listed it, and that assumes a CD only box will actually happen. Still no listing at other European sites that I use or CD Japan. Only the Danish site has a pre-order option, and the German Amazon website does list a new street date that matches the release date on that Danish site. I haven't been able to find anything else about it.

The CD only box has now started to pop up on other European websites.

Unfortunately, it appears that it will not contain the Old Is New album.
