Once again i don't own any except further down the list when you get to "greatest hits" comps by people like Tom Petty.

The question is, how many would Jimbo own? A list like this would drive him nuts.

I only own 4 of them, though a fair number of them I've heard but don't own.

The Star is Born soundtrack is some quality alt-country.

I didn’t technically buy the Star Is Born soundtrack but loaded it to my phone via Apple Music for the car. So it doesn’t count. I’m surprised it hasn’t tracked higher on the chart.

I think it's still climbing the charts. My wife tells me she hears 3 of the songs all over the radio.

I have 11. Of those 11, I bought a version of three this year (Rumours box set, Abbey Road on vinyl, and Egypt Station, the only 2018 release).

62: Diamonds - Elton John
91: Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
96: Greatest Hits - Queen
109: Metallica - Metallica
119: 25 - Adele
127: 1 - Beatles
163: Abbey Road - Beatles
174: Egypt Station - Paul McCartney
179: 21 - Adele
189: Back In Black - AC/DC
190: Thriller

I don't even count all the legacy recordings as they chart every year like Marley's Legend collection or Back In Black. It's the new stuff that gets me, who's buying all that? I think the kids just download or stream.

The numbers are so small these days. I think it was Ace Frehley's "Space Invader" that debuted at #3 on the charts with...9,000 sold. That's strictly from memory, so I could be way off on that.

I did notice that Dark Side Of The Moon doesn't chart anymore or The Eagles Greatest Hits.

As in the Golden Globes thread, I discover I am out of touch! I have:

The Top 200 albums (all purchased years if not decades ago)
Eminem- Curtain Call: The Hits
Tom Petty- Greatest Hits
Bob Marley- Legend
Journey- Greatest Hits
Fleetwood Mac- Rumours
C.C.R.- Chronicle
Queen- Greatest Hits
Metallica- Metallica
Adele- 25
Beatles- 1
Bob Seger- Greatest Hits
Beatles- Abbey Road
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Greatest Hits
Adele- 21
AC/DC- Back In Black
Michael Jackson- Thriller

The Hot 100 songs:

Don't have any. I know I played Childish Gambino's This Is America once on YouTube because I'd heard good things about it and have enjoyed his stuff in the past. Don't recall much about it other than it didn't grab me.

Everything else:

I thought I would check out the Top Rock Albums chart since that is a little more my speed than current pop.

Tom Petty- Greatest Hits
Journey- Greatest Hits
Fleetwood Mac- Rumours
C.C.R.- Chronicle
Queen- Greatest Hits
Metallica- Metallica
Beatles- 1
AC/DC- Back In Black
Bob Seger- Greatest Hits
Eagles- Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975
Beatles- Abbey Road
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Greatest Hits
Lana Del Rey- Born To Die
Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits
Lynyrd Skynyrd- Greatest Hits
Guns N'Roses- Greatest Hits
Foo Fighters- Greatest Hits
Rolling Stones- Hot Rocks 1964- 1971
Guns N'Roses- Appetite For Destruction
Jack White- Boarding House Reach
soundtrack- Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix
soundtrack- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Awesome Mix
soundtrack- Suicide Squad: The Album
Nirvana- Nevermind
Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack
Beatles- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Ghost- Prequelle
Eagles- Hotel California
Trans-Siberian Orchestra- The Ghost's of Christmas Eve
Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon
Def Leppard- Vault: Greatest Hits
Metallica- Master of Puppets
Jimi Hendrix- Both Sides of the Sky
Tom Petty- An American Treasure
Bob Seger- I knew You When
Elvis Presley- Elvis: 30 # 1 Hits
My Chemical Romance- The Black Parade
Pink Floyd- The Wall

It seems music pretty much ended for me in 1985.

Yes, it seems I sort of tuned out of popular music after the 90's. For the 2018 year end hot 100, I only vaguely know "Havana" from the mash up with "Hold On, I'm Coming" from the car commercial. This compared to my teen years when I knew every song in the top 40 of the Billboard chart.

I feel like there's a lot of hits by singers who just aren't good people. Or who are dead.

I have been putting together a list of my favorite releases of 2018...all but one are vault releases. The only one that is new in the studio is the Maria Muldaur release of Don’t You Feel My Leg which is a collection of old tunes.

For me music stopped evolving in 1988 when FZ’s last band exploded.

Still purchase new releases from old artists.
Not much in the way of post 1990 artists...exception the Asylum Street Spankers who they themselves split up nearly 10 years ago.

If it wasn't for those legacy recordings, some over 20 years old, I wouldn't own any of the Billboard Top 200 in 2018.
