Easily, (to me), the best era of Tangerine Dream music is the Virgin Records era and a box set of the albums remixed/remastered by Steven Wilson (remixing I assume) will be out next year.
From Musictap:
In what will SURELY be one of 2019’s ‘must have’ reissues will be a Tangerine Dream CD/BD Box with albums remixed and/or remastered by master engineer, Steven Wilson.
To date, little is known about this upcoming box other than it’s likely to appear within April of 2019. Even more excellent to the news (and never downplaying other TD eras), these reissues will be for the Virgin Records era. Of those, the possibilities of new remixed albums include thirteen albums released over ten years.
Of those, notable inclusions are Phaedra (1974), Rubycon (1975), Ricochet (Live) [1975], Stratosfear (1976), Encore (Live) [1977], Cyclone (1978), and Force Majeure (1979).
Some of these remixed recordings will be presented as new Stereo and 5.1 Surround mixes. Virgin Records will announce all needed info at the turn of the New Year with title, inclusions, artwork, and actual release date.

This is my favorite era of Tangerine Dream as well. I hope this set includes a remix of their soundtrack for 1977's "Sorcerer". My favorite album by them.

That was on MCA Records so it won't be in this box.

I know it was on MCA but it fits in the timeframe and I was hoping Virgin might cross-licence.

If you're not nice
Preliminary details for the box set, direct from Universal's solicitation, are now in the first post. This is going to be a general release so Amazon pre-order links should be available soon.

Very interested but I suspect the price will scare me off
125 GBP list price + shipping is the rumour. Not bad considering prices of some other box sets. Links were up for a short time apparently but they were pulled so we have to wait to order.

Universal has announced the general release date for the box set as June 14th. It will be on the Virgin imprint (as were the original Tangerine Dream albums from that period). We have a packshot of the box in the first post, and the UK pre-order link is now active -- the initial price is £116.51:

Virgin/Universal will also be releasing individual "Steven Wilson Editions" of some Tangerine Dream CDs on the same day as the big box. I've added pre-order links for those to the first post. The CDs contain some, but not all, of the material that's on the box set.
