Do you plan to celebrate the holiday? If so, are you having a feast at home, at a friend's/relative's house, or at a restaurant? What's on the menu?

My sister is coming over. I've ordered food from Whole Foods that I'll pick up on Wednesday morning. I hope that everyone here has a great day that day (and everyday) with your loved ones.

Well, for the past couple of years our daughters have worked as the social media team for several Vegas casinos and properties. They normally have to work on Thanksgiving, so the wife and I meet them at one of the restaurants where they work and enjoy it that way. I the following Monday (when they are both off) we have a home Thanksgiving dinner.

Michelle, the kids and I will go to my sister's house where my Dad and other family will be.
Just not the same since my Mom died and the holidays will never be the same, though we do very well in carrying on.
On Saturday, my friend Melinda will fly in from New Orleans and we will see her.
I have not seen here in 20 years or so, so this will be awesome.
We also will visit the Christmas Village in Philly.
Thanksgiving Day will be damn cold here; around 28 degrees as a high.
Oh yeah-Thanksgiving Eve we will do our traditional viewing of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving!

Off to our dear sister's place again, with other family and friends flocking over with various dishes to eat and games to play.

This year, we're just going to my mother's. No dinner at my mother-in-law's - my wife and sister-in-law have seemingly convinced her she doesn't have to cook for every holiday at her age. She'll be joining us at my mother's.
Side note - for well over 30 years now, my wife and I have been doing dinners for the major holidays at two places - her mother's, and my mother's (and before that, my grandmother's until she had to give it up). There was never a way to please both - if we ate full meals at my mother's, her mother was annoyed that we didn't eat much at her house. If we saved room for the full meal at my mother-in-law's, my mother was annoyed that we didn't eat as much there. Fast forward to this year - my mother-in-law is going to my mother's, and I believe the plan is that she will go to another relative's house for dinner in the evening. She said to my wife, "I don't know, that seems like a lot of food to eat in one day." My wife said, "Now you know what we've been doing since before we got married."

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day, everyone. May you always find someone or something to be thankful for each day.
I've been spending the holiday week with my younger sister, who lives outside of San Francisco, while the rest of the family is down in Los Angeles. (Her birthday falls during this week, too, sometimes on Thanksgiving Day itself.) It's been pretty hazy here because of the Camp Fire to the north, but there was rain yesterday, so the air looks clear and smells fresh. Even though it'll be just the two of us, we'll make a big meal so that she'll have leftovers and I'll have some, too, to take back to MA with me.
Anyway, best wishes for a great day for everyWan here!
