Description
Classic IV's Imperial/Liberty Records albums from 1968, 1969 and 1970. These feature the Top 5 US hits 'Spooky', 'Stormy' and 'Traces', whilst the first three albums made the Billboard Top 200. Guitarist J.R. Cobb left to form the Atlantic Rhythm Section, whilst vocalist Dennis Yost began a solo career in the mid 1970s till his sad death in 2012. Digitally remastered and slipcased. New notes.

almost the entire band output save for a couple of singles..

I was a big fan of them in the 60's, and have been searching for CD versions of the third and fourth albums for years. One of a few guilty pleasure artists for me, along with Michael Parks of "Then Came Bronson" fame. I have an import compilation called "Atmospherics" from Australia, but I liked many album cuts, so I'll get this. I saw them live at a school gymnasium in Seguin, Texas, outside of San Antonio back in about 1970. Yost said "Hello, Sequin!"... not sure if he was trying to be funny or really didn't know the name of the town.

Me too. The Taragon comp is a nice one as well. It was put together by Ron Furmanek and was originally intended to be released as part of the EMI Legendary Master Series that were released from the late ‘80s to mid-‘90s. Often remixed, they also had great booklets with a spread of vintage sleeves across the center page and often included a bit of studio chatter sprinkled in for the hard core fans.

Furmanek's EMI Legendary Master Series and Capitol Collector's Series were great. I collected them all.

Agreed. I think I have them all, but it’s tough to find a comprehensive listing. The other one I remember that was shelved and issued later by another label was the Peter & Gordon set that came out on the Collectors Choice label:

You're looking at the Amazon USA listing, which is the import arrival date. BGO is a British label so our thread title is showing the UK release date, a week earlier:

Both the USA and UK now show this as a December 7th release.
