If I were a vinyl buyer, this one would be a no-brainer purchase if it's pressed by a company with a good reputation (Quality Record Pressings, Optimal). Looks like it will be a sweet set if the pressings are done right. About the only negative...they probably should have included a 7-inch of Fallout/Nothing Achieving.

My understanding is that these are 1/2 speed masters.

All I want is a decent sounding "Shambelle" without the intro clipped. It's a needledrop on the 4-CD box set from years ago.

That's odd. I'm pretty sure when I posted this, the tracklist for the 6th LP was in the Amazon link. Now it's not.

Here are the songs that will be on bonus LP:

Side One:
Dead End Job
Landlord
Visions Of The Night
Friends
A Sermon
Shambelle

Side Two:
Flexible Strategies
Low Life
Murder By Numbers
Truth Hits Everybody (Remix)
Someone To Talk To
Once Upon A Daydream

Not that I have a horse in the race, but I'm assuming neither of the '86 re-recordings are included...

No, they're not which is a shame.

I think the only place "De Doo Doo, De Da Da '86" ever appeared was some sort of SACD or something?

I've been hoping for a complete album set on vinyl for some time now. I picked up the half-speed master of Ghosts in the Machine, and it's fantastic. The non-album tracks are a nice bonus, as it essentially covers the b-sides. Too bad they aren't including the very first single on a 45 (Fall Out/Nothing Achieving). Also missing the three songs from the soundtrack Brimstone & Treacle, and DSSCTM '86, but not a big deal.

Would love to have expanded editions of the studio albums some day. Lots of great stuff was recorded/demoed for the Ghost sessions, so that would be an obvious choice. And they were a great live band, and could cover eras that haven't been represented. Hopefully this set also comes out in hi-res.

Hilarious video of Stewart Copeland unboxing this LP set here (not on YouTube so I can't embed it):

https://www.cnn.com/videos/entertainmen ... police.cnn

At 1:08 he says, "For new unheard tracks there will be more coming down the pike." I like the sound of that.

I've read reviews of this set complaining how tight the LPs are squeezed into the box, and this video confirms those complaints.

My Christmas present this year was a new ORTOFON - 2M Blue MM Phono cartridge and PRO-JECT - PHONO BOX S and man what a difference it has made. This upgrade has allowed me to rediscover the joy of my vinyl collection all over again.

The Police box can now be opened, deferred until the new set-up installation and now it has. This should an absolute great experience, hoping top play the complete catalogue in sequence.
