[2018-11-02] The Darling Buds "Shame On You: The Native Recordings" reissue (Native UK)

Description
The Darling Buds burst onto the scene in spring 1988. They formed in a tiny village in South Wales during late 1986, and signed to Native in October 1987, after been seen performing at TJ's in Newport, Wales. These recordings where made in Vibrasound, a legendary Sheffield, sixteen track studio, that is sadly now defunct. They went into the studio for four days over the Christmas holidays of 1987. 'Shame On You' was the band's debut single released on Native, and it charted at #1 in the Indie chart. Things moved fast, with a second single, 'It's All Up To You', again charting at #1 on the indie chart, whilst the first single was still in the top ten. It entered the National Charts later that month. By July that year, the had been snapped up, and signed to CBS. This album was first released in 1990, and many fans believe that this release represent the band at their 'indie' best.

Interested. Their albums Crawdaddy and Erotica were two favorites of mine at the time. Haven't listened to them in a while. Might be time for a little Darling Buds revival.

Cheers Linda! I see 4 tracks on here I need.

Just saw that they have reunited! Put out an EP in 2017, have been touring this year in the UK. Wow, back in action after a 25 year break.

Love this track from their 3rd proper album Erotica in 1992:

I noticed this new ep a week or two ago. Could not find evidence of s physical copy however. Did I just miss it?

The Evergreen EP was released physically in very small runs on vinyl and cassette only, no CD. But the Buds are working on a new full-length album which we can hope will have a CD version.

I scored all their previous releases years ago in the deep discount bin at my indie many years back. Wow, what gems their recordings were.
