Sad to hear of the passing of John Wicks, the man behind The Records and power pop classics like Starry Eyes. He lost his battle with cancer today.

I often saw him at shows in Los Angeles, and from all the posts from my friends who knew him, was a really nice guy.

R.I.P. and thanks for the wonderful music.

RIP. His music was a joy.

So so sad to read this. I was very fortunate to see The Records in '80. One of my favorite power-pop bands of the decade for sure.

God Bless you John, the pain is over and Thank you so very much for making me so happy all these years.

Such sad news...Starry Eyes was one of the best pure pop singles of all time...

Saw them twice - The Bayou on their first US tour and then later at the old 9:30 club in DC.

Great band live and in the studio - RIP John and thanks for many great songs...
