Supposedly an announcement is coming soon.

The previous Deluxe Editions have been issued in December of those years, and I'd expect the same here.

I'm hoping they use the awesome show from Tuscon, AZ in 1978 as a live disc, because that show was killer and I still have it on cassette and it was a soundboard show.

This is from the rushisaband.com site:

Speaking of which, although there hasn't been an official announcement yet, a 40th anniversary Hemispheres box set is in the works and is expected to get released in late November or early December just in time for the Holidays. The release of last year's A Farewell to Kings 40th anniversary box set was announced on October 19th, so we should expect some kind of Hemispheres announcement within the next several weeks - maybe even coinciding with the 40th anniversary later in the month.

My favorite period of Rush when they were very proggy!

I'll be all over this. I hope Pete is right about the possibility of the Tucson, AZ in 1978 be included.

USA pre-order links are now live in the first post. It appears that the Blu-ray Audio disc will only be available as part of the big Super Deluxe box set.

Easy pass on the super deluxe. Very, very, very, very easy pass on the super deluxe.

Hey look, for an extra $130 you can get one Blu-ray!!!!!

I might be in for the 2 CD version. I'm certainly a big enough fan, but I ended up so turned off by the Farewell super deluxe that I never bothered with the budget 3 CD version of that one.

Rush should follow Metallica's direction in how to put together a proper super deluxe. Eleven CDs, five 12" vinyl LPs, one 10" picture disk, four DVDs for $50 more than the price of this box set (granted, one of the CDs in the Metallica box is a worthless interview CD). And I would imagine that the Metallica box will probably have at least 15 hours of unreleased live material in it. In a bit of a defense for Rush, Metallica are completely independent at this point (they even obtained the equipment to press their own vinyl), so they don't have some bean-counter above them assisting in the ridiculous assignment of the price-tag.

After being on the fence I ended up getting the Nazareth box set for one simple reason. I'm a fan but not a huge fan, and when I had to opportunity to get 30+ CDs of material, I figured if I could find 100 songs that I liked, then it would be worth it. Currently all I have is Hair of the Dog (absolutely should have a few more of their albums from that period). Bottom line is that I could easily find over 50% of the Nazareth box to be filler material but $140 would still be a reasonable price considering how much is there that I don't already have in my collection. Can't say that about this Rush set.

The Super Deluxe Edition includes two CDs, one exclusive Blu-ray disc, and three high-quality 180-gram black vinyl LPs. The set encompasses the Abbey Road Studios 2015 remastered edition of the album for the first time on CD, along with previously unreleased and newly restored bonus content consisting of the band's masterful June 1979 Pinkpop Festival performance in the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, the Pinkpop recording engineer failed to capture the first several minutes of "2112," so an amazing, unreleased performance of the song during the Hemispheres tour from Tucson, Arizona in November 1978 appears here in its place. The third bonus disc contains audio from the album newly mixed from the original multitracks in 5.1 surround sound on a Blu-ray disc, along with four bonus videos: three shot in 1978 as promo videos, and one of "La Villa Strangiato," originally shot at Pinkpop with newly restored stereo audio.

The Super Deluxe Edition of Hemispheres-40th Anniversary will also include several exclusive items, including a 40-page hardcover book with unreleased photos and new artwork by original album designer Hugh Syme; an extensive, 11,000+-word essay by Rob Bowman; The Words & The Pictures, a replica of the band's rare 1979 UK tour program; a 24x24-inch wall poster of the newly created Syme art; a Pinkpop Festival replica ticket; a Pinkpop Festival replica cloth VIP sticky pass; and a replica 1978 "Rush" Hemispheres iron-on patch.

"Hemispheres was one of our most challenging and demanding records to make," says Alex Lifeson. "From its inception in a Wales farmhouse where it was written over a 4 week span," Lifeson continues, "to the very difficult mixing sessions in two London recording studios, it stands as a key transitional album in Rush's long recording history."

So, I was right on about the Tuscon show and yet, that whole, complete show is NOT included and instead we get the more common Pinkpop show which is still excellent.

Only one song from the Tuscon show appears and this time around there are no "tribute" recordings.

I'll still get it like the others when it's cheaper, but again, it is a missed opportunity.

The videos footage has already been used before.

This album has always been a huge favorite of mine and marked the end of the true Prog years for the band.

Pete brought us the tracklist for the two CDs, and I've moved that up into the first post along with the packshot for the Super Deluxe box.

What is the "Abbey Road 2015 remaster?"

And yeah, $130 to get the blu-ray and it's not a Steven Wilson remix?

El paso.

The Pinkpop show is also missing Anthem (which opened the show) and Working Man (first song of the encore). I'm not completely ruling out buying the 2 CD version, but what little interest I had just dropped a bit more.

Hopefully the Blu will be released solo eventually.

It's not a Steven Wilson mix.

Moving Pictures aside, I was not impressed by Rush's 5.1 mixes. They seemed to get worse with each release. Not immersive surround mixes like Mr. Wilson's.

I would love to get Wilson's 5.1 mix of A Farewell To Kings, but for $130 with vinyl I'll never play.

Agree as well. Can't afford that at all. Maybe, maybe at 1/2 price but I still even then I would have to revaluate it.

If it was $40 or less, I'd pull the trigger. Too bad they're not doing it like the Yes releases, where you get a 5.1 blu ray and stereo remix CD for $30.

And now there is a 10% off coupon in addition to the $88.42 price-tag.

Still too pricey for me. But for those on the fence, it's now at <$80 and it does have a $150 suggested retail.

Agree, I am still passing. Now if they had the complete Arizona show I be in. Instead I'll go for the Gun N Roses 5.1 set.
