My patience has been rewarded! (Though I did lose faith a few times!) Yahoo!
Now bring on the first Capitol albums. (I'm never satisfied.)

This is a must own for any self respecting garagehead and Seger fan! I can't wait to retire my 45's

Just finished playing this CD and recommend it. It is interesting to hear the young Seger try different styles of mid-60s rock. "Persecution Smith" is an early electric Dylan homage, "Heavy Music" is really Motown influenced musically, while Seger's vocals on the song have a bit rougher, Stax/Volt vibe. "Florida Time" shows the Beach Boys influence, "Sock It To Me, Santa" is a straight up James Brown rip (it even has a direct "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" quote!). Lots of fun if you enjoy spotting the influences. And the booklet is well-done, only 8 pages but the liner notes are very thorough, outlining Seger's recording history prior to what is included on the CD (making me wish that those early songs WERE included here!) and a few vintage photos.
Sound quality is okay, sounds like it might be a tad compressed, but I am sure it sounds at least as good as the singles would've been on my Mickey Mouse turntable in '67. I enjoy the music a lot, and that's the main thing.
