Description
UK pub rockers Ace came to fame in 1975 with the success of their single 'How Long', which was both a US Top 3 and a UK Top 20 hit. 'Five-A-Side' also made the Billboard Top 20 Albums chart. Formed by previous members of The Action and Warm Dust, they finally disbanded in 1977. Vocalist Paul Carrack went on to join Squeeze before embarking on his continuing solo career. Digitally remastered and slipcased. New notes.

I hate threefer remasters over two discs.

Either put two discs on one or release them all separately.

As long as the split album breaks where the original LP sides did, I don't mind it so much since it keeps the integrity of the original release. You would have had to flip the album over back in the day anyway.

If it's just a couple of tracks that spill over to the next disc, I totally agree with you. That's annoying.

A nice enough set, with all studio tracks present and accounted for. A good pick-up for those who missed the 2011 Cherry Red reissues of “Five-A-Side,” with seven additional Peel Session and Bob Harris Session bonus tracks, and the 3-disc “Time For Another”/”No Strings”/”At the BBC” collection. Perhaps this is also good place and time to note that Paul Carrack’s new solo disc, “These Days,” releases today in the UK and a couple of weeks from now as an Amazon US import...

The worst is when they are reissuing albums from the mid 60s when the labels would sometimes throw the same songs on different LPs. So to prevent redundancy (and fit more on the disc, and probably not to pay royalties twice for the same song on the same disc) they leave off the repeated song(s), which ruins the sequencing of the original album. It essentially becomes a new comp. I have this with a couple of Jan and Dean albums. I know it's really the original label to blame for this situation, but if you are claiming to reissue the album, reissue the album! Not a truncated version.
