Hope these sound as good as their box set, "high quality" packaging scares me though as the box set packaging sucked (very flimsy, hopefully they learned) We shall see when I order these two.

These came out last month as 24 bit downloads. I have them, but haven't had the chance to play them. It would be nice to get 24 bit versions of the A&M releases.

In all honesty the extra 8 bits probably won't mean much to the person like myself with average (at best) hearing. Manifesto did a great job on his A&M material.

Being a Lee Michaels completist I will eventually get this but these were weak albums from what I recall. But Yes, Geff is correct, Manifesto did a great job with his A&M catalogue.

Each has its moments, especially Tailface but they are not as strong as the A&M stuff. I guess there was a reason they were unavailable for so long. Those on the fence can check out tracks on Youtube.

I still haven't gotten around to playing them, but if I remember right didn't LM switch from Hammond to guitar on these 2?
Yep, and to this day I couldn't never understand this. Remember when Billy Joel tried this, didn't work either.
Billy tried a lot of things later in the career that did not work.
Billy lost me after the Stranger. It's a shame as I love Piano Man, Streetlife & Turnstiles. After The Stranger (actually even parts parts of The Stranger are unlistenable for me; especially Just The Way You Are); he got way too "lowest common denominator Top 40 pop" for me.

I didn't put it together until now that these are Manifestos AND the are the only 2 that are already released as 24 bit downloads. Manifesto, please give us the A&M catalog in 24 bit. Your 16 bit masters were great for cd; I'll bet they'd be awesome in hi-res.
