Description
For over fifty years, Jan Akkerman has been one of Holland’s most respected guitarists. In addition to his leading rolein the globally-acclaimed bands Focus and Brainbox, he has also worked with the likes of B.B. King, Charlie Byrd, Cozy Powell, Claus Ogerman and Ice-T. On his solo projects, Akkerman let his creativity run free, combining rock, jazz, blues,classics and dance in his own distinctive style. This box set brings together all of Jan Akkerman’s studio albums, his most important live recordings, his personal selection of Focus tracks and a CD of rare and previously unreleased tracks. In other words, the legacy of a singular and groundbreaking artist.

The person who mastered this set has bravely posted over at the Hoffman site. Seems like this may be a decent sounding box.

Very fair price, also. If only my much wanted Ian Hinter & Wishbone Ash boxes were this cheap!

My Jan Akkerman came in yesterday. It was sent from Amazon.Fr . The outer box looked like it when thru a war but Thankfully the Akkerman box was unscathed.
Looking forward into diving into this tomorrow. One of my all-time favorite guitarists!

I just received mine but unfortunately I am away for a week. Apparently it was remastered for this set, unlike the Focus box which used the old Red Bullet remasters.

Yes it was Barry. The producer and remastering engineer of this set has been on the Hoffman board providing great details of how and the contents of the boxset.

Can't wait to dive into it!
