I did enjoy season 1 quite a bit, but then they started to—not so subtly—force their various agendas upon me. I pretty much gave up on it when Supergirl decided it was okay to keep mum about knowing that the President of the United States was an illegal space alien in disguise.

Supergirl isn't subtle, that's for sure. They really do push their agenda more than any other Arrowverse show. Plus, I thought that Supergirl, herself, has gotten more and more strident over time.

She is so cute and perfect for the role. But the cringey stories and how she is better than Superman turned me off. Plus the formulaic CW/Arrow nonsense type cast. And the black Jimmy Olsen was terrible and seemed to be done so she could have the typical "hip" boyfriend.
She could have really made for an iconic Supergirl but the writing, direction etc. killed it for me.

And of all the DC heroes, she should be likeable and sweet.

Supergirl fans must be counting their blessings that the movie wasn't completed around the same time as those movies they canned before release awhile back.

Well… Milly Alcock looked more like Supergirl than Meg Donnelly did.
I don't know about Milly Alcock as I haven't seen her in anything that I am aware of, but Meg Donnelly cannot act. I couldn't believe she was even in the running.

Milly Alcock was in "Upright" with Tim Minchin, and was very good in season one - season two went off AMC+ the streaming version (as opposed to AMC+ the DirecTV version, which does have it). She was also in the first handful of episodes of "House Of The Dragon". Again, very good.
