A movie producer once said,"If I make a Gary Cooper movie where he wears a hat,the movie makes money. If I make a Gary Cooper movie where he doesn't wear a hat,the movie loses money."
The secret to his success?

Tough one, but I went with Sgt. York over High Noon. Mr. Deeds and Yankees are also huge.

It's probably "Sergeant York," but just to be different I'm going to say "The Wreck of the Mary Deare."

Sergeant York for me, too, though I liked Meet John Doe pretty well.

I don't care for Westerns so that narrowed it down. :) Pride of the Yankees for me! Love in the Afternoon was great too, but the age difference between the two leads is very cringy.

I haven't seen too many, but I enjoyed Pride of the Yankees.
And I also saw that one on 35mm when Robert Osborne came to Mankato to show it as part of an early TCM promotion.

I just realized looking at this list that PRIDE OF THE YANKEES is the only Cooper movie I've seen...that shocks me even how big a fan of classic movies I am. I've got some movie watching to do!

I'll be that you wanted to type "I'll bet". :)

I reckon you'd bet/be right, too. Even though it's an abysmal movie, IMO.
