I was really hoping for a lot more from this.

To say the least. This is even worse than The Doors.

Incredibly disappointing. I would like to hear the 5:1 but not with this cost and what they are releasing .

Even though I tend to rank on MFSL, I believe they've done this on SACD? The Band MFSL's can usually be found on sale new for $20 or so.

True. I really wish the majors would start offering the blu-ray as a stand alone option at a reasonable price. For those who have the money for these repetitive (CD, Vinyl, & blu) sets, I tip my hat to you (Or I would, but I can't afford a hat!

This is a great album but I prefer the second "The Band" from 1969 even more so.

It's been available in 5.1 on DVD-A for quite a few years. Unless this is a new mix, it's nothing new.

They did it on Gold Ultradisc and SACD. Both sound very good.

Totally agree. While I like Music From Big Pink, I've always thought that The Band was a much better album. As always, just my opinion.

Note it says new stereo mastering but not new 5.1, so I doubt the surround is a new mix.
