If you're not nice
I grew up in New York, but had never really paid any attention to The Good Rats. I think they were bigger on the Island than in the boroughs. The preview song is great, and now I'm wondering how they never made it big nationally. I'm going to start my Good Rats collection with this CD.

They were huge on Long Island. They were constantly playing in Suffolk and Nassau. I know they played the Garden and the Coliseum as an opening act. I could be wrong but I think the largest place they played as a headliner was the Calderone.

It was quite a fun and rewarding challenge to amass the Good Rats' catalog on CD back in the early days of collecting. The eponymous debut was reissued by One Way, and was in print for about 5 minutes.
The band reacquired the rights to most of their albums and reissued them a few years back, sold via their website. Made things easier for fans.

Pepi was a terrific songwriter. I don't know how they didn't "make it."
