I think the music industry has found a way to bump their bottom line. I can't imagine these DVDs (like the Roxy Music set) can be that much more costly to them. But they must have a market out there who is willing to pay this, and the profit margin is enticing them to go this way with re-re-reissues. Long way to say I probably won't be spending $100 to repurchase one of my favorite albums. And yes, I know that won't be the final price.

Totally agree with you These box sets are becoming a joke price wise I have decided I can no longer afford them especially now that I’m a single dad. Unless it’s something I consider I must have I won’t be buying these box sets.
In the case of this box, there isn’t a hell of a lot that is actually unreleased. It’s just the same songs in different formats.

As I've said before, we need a "rip-off" metric for these reissues. Perhaps price per unreleased song. $10 or so for this one.

Now that British price is one I can get behind! Actually, the price worked out to be £38.45, including shipping, which works out to $53.37. Half price is better!

From the time of its release in 1967 until now, this album has always been in my Top Ten albums of all-time!! To me, it has aged extremely gracefully, as great today as it was in 1967!! Equally good is the Forever Changes Concert cd.
Like many others have said regarding other Deluxe and/or Anniversary editions, I wish they would not include vinyl, and price the set more affordably!!

A Christmas sale at Amazon USA brings this box set down to its lowest price to date -- $50.98, and there's a further 10%-off coupon which can be clicked on at the link:

I received this within a couple of days of ordering and so far listened to disc 1 (stereo album) and it sounds great to me! I also appreciate that although the set contains a vinyl LP and multiple CDs / DVD, it is still fairly thin in size.

Although I'm not much of a vinyl collector, this record sounds stunning.

When Rhino released the stand alone vinyl reissue a few years back, I picked it up and it blew away my Elektra copy I bought new in the 70s. I haven't heard the box set release, but since it's cut by Bernie Grundman I wouldn't be surprised if it's even better.
