He's a great player. He was at Experience PRS a few years ago, and he hung in there with David Grissom and Davy Knowles.
Stiff competition if I may use that definition. I need to check this guy out. Both you Alan and John know your guitarists by being one. I will keep this on my short-list.

Davy Knowles is a fearless guitarist, but that Grissom/Knowles/Lopez (and Mike Ault, to be fair) session is the only time I saw Davy shake his head and not want to follow a guy's solo. Lopez tore it up. I think I have a recording of that here somewhere. Gotta look it up now.

Wish Lance Lopez would make a Long Island appearance, or at least NYC (the Iridium?) because he is that good. I pledged money to his wife (family) a few years ago when he was down on his luck as he entered rehab so I would love to contribute in person at a venue one day.

Message this morning on Lance Lopez's Facebook page:
Quote:
With an extremely grateful and humble heart I am so very grateful for all of the messages of love, support and well wishes I have received...it’s hard to get to all of them...but just know I have received them... I will continue to remain in Nashville as this is just the beginning of a long process of healing... I will be focusing solely on recovery for now and beginning a new life...Thank you for all of your support and love... I love you very, very much Peace and GOD Bless P.S. I will be deactivating this page very soon However the LANCE LOPEZ Page will still be active
Back in November he relapsed and then suffered internal beeding which took him out of the game, glad to see he is continuing to recover.
From November:
Quote:
Unfortunately I have been struggling pretty hard as I have relapsed recently due to chronic back pain among other issues...I’m currently checking back into rehab to detox and get the help I need...I need all the prayers you can say for me at this time... I love you all so much LL

Things were not going well back on November 10th as seen by this Facebook post:
Quote:
After last nights show in Casper, Wyoming, LANCE LOPEZ was rushed to the ER after vomiting blood and suspected internal bleeding! He has been admitted to the hospital in Casper and is now stable condition and awaiting tests. Please keep Lance in your prayers at this time. We will try to keep you as updated as we can on Lance’s condition. Thank you for your love and support! ~LLWM
