The initial solicitation from Rhino says that the vinyl version will pressed in both black and blue colours, and the packaging won't be marked, so it's a roll of the dice.

It's not the iconic compilation that the first one was (as I understand it, it was just slapped together by RCA without any input from Bowie as a way to cash in on him, because he had fulfilled his contract and was now a free agent in 1981), but it does have some good songs on it and for a time, was only the second Bowie comp available in the states.

This ones makes little sense to me. Hard core fans have all of this; most casual fans won't care.

I have all the songs, and the prior edition, but yes, I will buy it again.

This arrived today, and I was bummed to find out it was a digipack, not a jewelcase.

I mighta misspoke, it's a cheap cardboard sleeve that folds out. There's no spindle to hold the disc or anything.

Packaging without spindles is the worst. And slide-in packaging without an inner sleeve is the absolute worst.

Rice paper inner sleeves They'd cost the labels 2-3 cents each; if that. I don't even understand why this was reissued.

I'm happy that it's here. Nobody is forced to buy it. I bought it.

For an album that was put together with no rhyme or reason (I believe Bowie had no input on the track selection), it holds together pretty well.
Sound quality is very good.
Did I need this collection of songs I already owned? No.
Do I regret buying it? No.

Maybe for the same reason those American Beatles albums hold up so well, because even a random collection of tracks from these artists at their peak is still great listening.

For the period covered by C2B, my go to best of has always been disc 3 of the first Ryko box set. It really hits the highlights.
