Twitter Flash today from our pal Rob Caiger (who worked / is working his magic on Small Faces reissues): Quote: Pleased to say, after 5 years of searching, Charly Recs have recovered a lot of missing The Yardbirds master tapes, session multi-tracks and plenty of previously unreleased material. 2018 is going to be a busy year for Caiger Rob and a VERY good year if you love sixties music!

I remember when Charly made the same claim aprox 20 years ago. They apparantly keep finding "higher generation" master tapes, lol.

This is very good news indeed - and we will have to wait how long for these?
When will the legal beagles get involved, and then when will even more 'missing tapes' be found further delaying things?
Memo to these guys - we're not getting any younger. The longer you wait the fewer copies will get sold....

A little more info from Rob the Caiger. To the question "does this mean Giorgio's stash of tapes has been recovered?", Rob tweeted: Quote: It's stashes of The Yardbirds (and Rolling Stones) tapes Giorgio had: Rotterdam, Paris, London, New York... The box isn't accurate. It's not fake stereo but a different mix. Then there's the second marqueew1 recording a few months later no one knows about...

many @theyardbirds songs and albums plus the original pre-production masters for 'Roger The Engineer' which have never been used. The original LP was cut from production masters (as it should have been) but to have these means we can work some magic at @alchemymasters
