Description
The Chicago rockers' 1984 live album, recorded at the height of their popularity. Tracks featured include 'Babe', 'The Best Of Times', 'Come Sail Away' and 'Mr Roboto'. Originally a two album set when first released by A&M. Styx are currently still recording and gigging. Digitally remastered and slipcased, and with new notes.

Sadly, this wasn't the greatest live album, but I still might get it. Too bad their catalog has not received the remastered treatment yet.

Recorded live at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans. They played four nights, Thursday-Sunday, and I was there Thursday and Saturday. This album and the accompanying concert film was recorded during the Saturday and Sunday shows.

It's possible that one night was cancelled/rescheduled due to major flooding -- I seem to have some memory of that.

I had this on vinyl way back when. I was disappointed in it. It sounded like they were mailing it in. The reunion disc from several years ago (1999?) was way better. I'm on the fence with this release anyway. I may get... just because. :lol:

I remember the video for the studio track.

They literally wave "goodbye" to Tommy Shaw in the video, because it was announced when this came out that he was leaving the band.

Thanks Linda...you'll notice it's mostly a video without Tommy and his role was insert into the video as well, he wasn't there with the rest of the band. I liked the Caught in The Act video that was released some time ago...the Kilroy movie that was shown before the concerts, and then the concert itself. A great band where one member thought he was the leader.
