A live-action Cloak and Dagger series is in development at the cable network Freeform, according to Variety. Formerly known as ABC Family, Freeform has reportedly ordered it "straight-to-series," describing it as a "superhero love story."
"The live-action interracial romance follows the duo, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love," as Variety explains it.
Yeah, it's really odd. I'm thinking they picked the wrong show runners with the "Whedon-lite" pair, because Agents is just tedious most of the time, which is baffling because they've got some good characters and actors. Agent Carter should've been great too, but for some reason they couldn't get that going, so I'm really not too hopeful for the Mockingbird spin-off.
They need to find a Berlanti to amp up the fun. I'm not sure what to think of the Cloak & Dagger thing considering the type of teenage melodrama that they seem to favor on Freeform.
