Paul McCartney supposedly has a new one that's ready to go.

And I'll add some George Harrison vault material to my wishful thinking list.

I'm probably going to get the Savory box. Now that I've seen a track listing, I do have one question/possible concern: how much of the Basie material is vocal? I don't tend to like Basie's vocalists, & I believe 2 full cd's are devoted to him.

2018, for me?

i have to say, as of right now there is nothing on the horizon that is intriguing to me.

what would i like to see?

all the things on my "2018 and still not on CD", list coming out on CD.

another david crosby? - OK, call me greedy, but he is on such a wonderful run.

the oft-rumored, on and off, we hate/love each other CSNY reunion - one more album one more tour, remember 'worsted on the way"?

10cc reunion???? - please.......such wasted talent, see CSNY above.

another producers album, 'made in basing street' was nothing less than phenomenal. and trevor horn is such an unknown talent.

new albums from:

boz scaggs

steely dan

david baerwald (david and david preferably) how about anything form baerwald, such a talent.

that fleetwood mac album that is supposedly waiting for stevie nicks vocals, and the follow-up tour.

hall & oates - one more time?

time to take a break:

the doors - stop the madness, just stop it.

jimi hendrix - is it really, i mean really jimi playing? if you answered yes, how do you know?

van morrison - he has been making the same album since 'days like this" with different words.

the eagles - it's over don, if you haven't heard the fogelberg tribute song, listen and you'll understand...it's a joe walsh solo song.

no more 'deluxe' - 'expanded' - 'super-deluxe' - 'super expanded deluxe' - 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and soon to be 60th anniversary editions with unfinished songs or bad live recordings (are you listening jimmy page?) thrown on to help sell it. make NEW music, or give it up.

What are you trying to do, ruin my music collecting for the whole year? :)

The Beatles (The White Album) will almost certainly get superdeluxed in 2018, so I'll be right behind Larry in line for that.

As far as new music, all I know for sure that's coming is the debut EP by The Moot, which I'm very excited about. (The Moot are the greatest group currently walking the face of the Earth.)

Most of the artists I like are going to sleep through this year since they had already new albums last year or the year before. I will hope for excellent remasters instead.

you messed with me robert.......you said "Another Nicolette Larson 1st time on cd release" and you had me going.

'all dressed up' has been released twice ( i think) once overseas and once on wounded bird.

now, individual releases of 'rose of my heart' and 'say when' would be interesting.

The White Album for sure.
I looked for info on The Moot and came up with some interesting stuff, but I don't think any of the acts I found are the one you mentioned.
Is there any place to go to hear anything from them? Thanks.

Giles Martin has as much as said that there will be such a release later this year. I hope so and am looking forward to it.

Pity they will not go backwards in time as well. These deluxes should have started with Revolver definitely. Rubber Soul would have been the potential starting point, but Revolver just screams for the treatment.

Maybe they'll do the earlier albums after they take care of Abbey Road. (And Get Back, I hope.)

The Moot are a mod/psych group based in Slough, England, led by two former members of The Onlookers. There have been a few demos and YouTube has a bunch of live performances:

Everybody has their own notion of a perfect band, for me right now that idea is embodied by The Moot. If you took all the music I love, converted it into 1s and 0s and fed it into a computer, this is the sound that would come out. They'll probably never be more than a little cult interest, but who knows.

For me, Jethro Tull re releases. I'm thinking at least two more this year. The next Miles Bootleg series release. I'm hoping for another Smiths re release.

Apple could have had been in the midst of a multi-year celebration of The Beatles' 50 years. They should have been doing 50th anniversary box sets starting in 2013 with "Please Please Me".

One can only hope that at some point they'll do so. "Abbey Road" and "The White Album" are my favorite albums so I'd love see the deluxe treatment for those first and then go back to everything pre-Sgt. Pepper as well as a massive "Get Back" box which could and should include a completely re-edited film.
