This company may be the worst of the Super D "family"; & that's saying a lot. I don't want to get into the story of what just happened to me as a buyer right now; other than to state that ebay shares 50% of the blame for this situation; but this is the worst of the Super D evil empire I've ever dealt with.

I didn't know they were a Super D company, I incorrectly thought Movie Mars owned them.

It's becoming apparent why buying from so many retailers on the net is becoming a terrible experience; Super D owns most of them........

Never thought I would miss brick & mortars so much  . It feels like we're down to Amazon, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Walmart (another evil empire), & the manufacturers who sell direct as far as physical product goes (I have had good luck with the hi-res download stores, never been ripped off by one to this day). That's what happens when there's no competition, & ironically all these Super D stores PRETEND to be competing against one another. That's really the joke.

For those new to the Super D saga; they used to be a wholesaler named Phantom. They bought up most of the mid sized i-net retailers, while merging with or acquiring two other wholesalers: DirectToU & Alliance; & put most of the rest out of business by selling cheaper at retail than they do at wholesale.

Other Super D stores in addition to Odd Banana include:

Collector's Choice
Deep Discount
Import CD's
Heartland
Critic's Choice
Blowitoughtahere
DVD Planet
WOW HD
DVD Pacific
Tartare
Pop Market

CD Baby also has an affiliation with Super D per several articles on the net; & I'm sure I've both forgotten & am unaware of some.

Note: Many of these were decent retailers before being acquired by Super D/Alliance/DirectToU.

I know you don't want to get into it, but I am really curious. In Canada, Import CD is virtually always the lowest priced Amazon.ca marketplace seller, particularly for items imported from the US. I've used them many times, so far without a hitch. Now that I've said that, my next order is bound to run into a snafu.

I only ever use ImportCDs as a third party seller through their Amazon storefronts in the USA and Canada, never from their own site. Having Amazon guaranteeing the transactions is important, but also, ImportCDs tends to end up with cheaper prices at Amazon than they charge directly.

That's one thing I will say for Amazon, they are much more consumer friendly than ebay. As I told ebay, my issue would not have even been an issue on Amazon.

I'm getting to the point where I will buy from no company except Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Even if I pay a bit more I know what the deal is.

I'm with you Linda BUT the problem I have with ImportCD's is that in my experience that their orders cancel above 25% AND they can take a long time to make a decision of what will happen.

Most recent example, the Bill Bruford box. Yes, my fault in a way because it was backordered already but backordered defined by ImportCD means to me "Will see if we can get it" and months ensue. By the way, two other titles in that order were cancelled as well.

And Yes, using Amazon as a front-end has truly become the best way to order. I weaken at times when I get the discount promos but no more 'backordered' orders from me.

The only one I will use any more at all is DD. And it's only because I'm so low income; it's similar to shopping at Walmart: if all that mattered was my morals I wouldn't do it. But being on a fixed income............

I’ve been buying CDs from Blowitouttahere for years now. I always order from their web site , never thru Amazon or eBay. They always seem to have the lowest prices , always next day shipping except if you order on weekends. I’ve never had a problem with them until my last order about 2 weeks ago. I ordered Joe Bonamassa Black Rock and the sent me a cd from a band called Incantation. I got in touch with them and explained what happened, sent it back and they sent me the same wrong cd again. Got in touch with them again , sent it back and another is on the way. It was a mix up with their catalog system. With over a hundred orders with them this is the only problem I’ve ever had. I’ve placed a few orders with Deep Discount and Import CDs and my only complaint with them was very slow shipping.

Interesting Don57, Thanks for sharing. I believe I may have used them and if so it was long ago. Need to revisit.

Well, I never deal with the separate ImportCDs, only their Amazon storefront, and that has worked for me with very few incidents over the years. (As you know, my taste in music is such that I buy more imports than domestics.) It's too worrisome for me that a seller would be more lax about direct orders to their website because there's no oversight there from Amazon or eBay, and no threat of negative feedback.

This has worked very well for me with all the places on Geff's list. ImportCDs, DeepDiscount, BlowItOutaHere, all of them. When I order anything from them, it's solely through their Amazon storefronts, never their own separate websites. (I would even do this for Tartare, although I don't really know why Geff orders CDs from a place that specialises in raw meat. ;))

I have no idea who they are; I found a few of these on Super D lists compiled by others. :?

I've also never heard of
WOW HD
DVD Pacific

BlowItOutaHere is on my shit list. I bought a Nightwish Blu Ray earlier in 2017. They advertised it as Region Free. It wasn't. I bought it from them on eBay. They offered my money back after I returned it (provided label even). After a month, I had no money back and repeated contacts with them via eBay went unanswered. I had to get eBay involved and finally got my $14 back.

I use ImportCDs all the time and have been very happy with them. Stopped using Deep Discount years ago as they tended to have very poor shipping times. I didn't know Super D owned Pop Market now. Stopped using Pop Market years ago after all their daily deals turned into stupid vinyl bundles.

And LMAO at the original post where Wal-Mart is singled out as the sole evil empire on a list that also contains Amazon. Really?!?!?! I guess I don't have major issues with either of them and have actually ordered product from each during the last month. The only company on that list I pretty much refuse to do business with these days is Best Buy. I cannot stress how much I've come to hate Best Buy. Last time I was in one of those was mid-December about 2 years ago and they had two registers open (out of 16) and the line to get through checkout was the roped-off, serpentine like setup with about 40 people in the line. Once I saw that I immediately turned around and walked out. Yeah, like I'm really going to stand there for 15 minutes because the company is too cheap to pay a couple more $7.25/hour wages to open up two more registers. **** them.

Yeah. If not for corporations, we would be doing the horse and buggy show and living in teepee's.... or igloos in my case.

I still order directly from Deep Discount- slow, yes, but cheap, especially when they have the 15% discount off the entire site- and no tax. Still have to buy $25 worth to get free shipping but that is never a problem.

Still order directly from CD Baby but only when they have a penny shipping if you order 3 cds or more, Again, that's no problem.

Only have ordered directly from ImportCD's when it's cheaper than anywhere else which isn't often.

I've bought from DeepDiscount, Blowitoutahere and ImportCDs for many years. I've only had one issue, with DeepDiscount, called them and found their customer service very helpful and solved the issue more than satisfactorily. I guess, as with any web merchant, YMMV.

I've done all right with DeepDiscount in the past, but haven't ordered for awhile.

Now that DD is charging Sales Tax to Wa, there's little-to no advantage to me in using them.

Deep Discount and Import CDs have been fantastic to me for years.

I always use them.
