Wow, I knew I wasn't into current mainstream popular music but that Top 200 list proves how far removed I actually am. I own 8 of those albums, all catalog titles, and have listened to 2 others on Spotify. The other 190 I have little to no interest in, yet every year I find hundreds of new and new-to-me titles that blow me away, so it just proves that mainstream music is just the tip of the iceberg.

In the Top 20 I own only 1 album, Metallica. And the only reason I own that is because I ordered tickets to see them this past year and I ended up with 4 copies!

The entire back of the list is catalog greatest hits albums, yep I do own a few of those.

Biggest shock is the soundtracks of Moana and Trolls are really high on the list. What?

I'm not a prude enough to be bothers by the music being released, but that doesn't mean that I have any desire to listen to it either. On top of that, since most of the songs can't be played on normal radio without significant beeping or whatever, what's the point? Maybe I'm old, but like I said, I don't mind them making this stuff. I just don't feel the need to listen to it.
