I've added an image and tracklist to the opening post. This is currently available in Canada for almost half the cost of the American box, so now would be a good time to lock it in:

You know...its bad enough when you buy a disc you already have (sidebar alert: there have been a few Michael Bloomfield releases which have been repackages - with less tracks (in the case of the Live At the Waldorf) of previous releases). However when I rebuy the same exact title there is usually a good reason (oops did not realize I had that). Nope not this time. And I could have simply seen the fact in this thread. I bought it from both UK and CA and announced it, and never cancelled the previous order. The lesson: the mind is a terrible thing to waste (or at least scroll up and see if I ordered previously).

Neither has arrived yet.
Now THAT'S completism! You'll have to get one from every market that's pressing them.

I've been playing this set through out the day and am really enjoying it. I seem to be noticing things I don't recall from the grey market/bootleg releases I have of this material. I will have to do some A/B comparisons to see if they are more revealing or I am misremembering this material. Either way, it really is fun listening to Coltrane straining against the band on the first date, then hearing how Miles rejiggered the set and left more room for Coltrane to play on subsequent dates. Great stuff.

I like most pre rock/fusion Miles. I also like Coltrane, but in small doses. This one is a little more bop than I usually prefer; but I am not criticizing it.
I'm playing more at the moment. Started at track 9 tonight.

My cal seems to think it's pretty cool!
Cool cat! I actually thought these dates were almost venturing into free jazz. Certainly some of Coltrane's solos are a little much for the crowds at times. When he goes on for a while, then veers back to the melody of the piece, there are times when the crowd erupts into cheers and applause. Pretty funny.
