Hm........... I counted 13 that I "loved". Didn't count but probably another 10 that fall into the "ok" catagory for me.

seems like a relatively random list. I own & like/love 28 of these albums, and have compilations from 8 others. Not sure I care if millennials don't know them. Actually, I'm sure that I don't care.

I get 9 by my count. I know 'em all but only 9 that I'd replace if lost.

That is a random list. I liked most of the album's on it but my fave is "Hearts of Stone" by Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes.

Who are these people deciding what I love? I, too, have about 8 or 9 that reach the level of "love" as a total album.

Styler is Sting's wife. I think that's the extent of her qualifications.

The other lady, Rita Wilson, is an actual singer/actress who first showed up as one of Marcia's high school rivals on The Brady Bunch and has been in various TV shows over the years in small roles (and is married to Tom Hanks). As for Sean Penn...I can't figure out what he's doing there, either.

I've only heard of 9 of the albums from the list. And out of those the Blüe Öyster Cult entry is the only one I have.

Only ever heard of 6 of those, and even a couple of them were only because of recognizable hits from them. I'm neither a baby boomer or millennial though, so I guess that's ok.

So I suppose I 'love' the asterisked ones because I bought them. The others are ones I've heard bits of but didn't like enough to get them. I used to have a VHS copy of The Concert For Bangladesh but I've never owned the album. I also know the song 'American Woman' by The Guess Who, but that's it. I didn't even know they'd recorded a whole album of stuff and assumed they were a one-hit wonder band.

Where's Pink Floyd? The Allman Brothers? Fleetwood Mack? How did Bonnie Raitt get on that list but Joni Mitchell didn't? Things like this give me a headache.

I have about 21 of them.
I was born in 66 which put me in the beginning of Gen X, though by the time Gen X became 'a thing' I was a little past the prime....my point is how did it go from Baby Boomers to Millennials (the off spring of the Gen X)...
a significant number of the releases, such as Bonnie Raitt and Tracy Chapman, were released in the late 80s...
but like mentioned, these things are pointless.

I went through the list after I posted it and I have one of them (Brothers in Arms). I have at least heard of all the artists, if not many of those particular albums.

We clearly didn't hang out in the same circles.

I have all but the ones in BOLD
And I would quibble with the ones in RED being albums that the majority of people loved. They were more B level, cult artists. Respected by other musicians and collectors/fans, people who frequent boards like this.

I would also disagree that all these artists are now forgotten. I still hear the Cars, Blue Oyster Cult, Steve Miller Band, the Guess Who, Bonnie Raitt (to my chagrin- I was tired of that album as soon as it came out) and Bob Seger on radio, in stores, and in discussion with kids in their teens and twenties most are aware of those artists and work.

I own 27 of them. Have interest in another 3 or 4.

At least 37, maybe a couple more. Only one I'm sure I don't have is Roberta Flack. Got a couple of Flack comps to cover her hits.

LOL, I really like 3 of your "red" ones: Thompson, Cobham & Ochs; though I'd agree none were huge sellers (with the possible exception of Cobham).
