Rather listen to Eminem all day than an hour of prog rock, which is garbage that can hardly be called music itself.
See what I did there, dismissing an entire genre because it's not to my taste? (No, I don't care for prog rock but the exaggeration is to make a point)

Hopefully we can agree to disagree.
Of course! I am sometimes just annoyed by the old fogey (I can say this because I am old too, even if not as old as you. ) dismissal of modern music and hip hop that some here display. I don't really think prog rock is garbage that can hardly be caused music, even if I don't care for it.

A lot of rap/hip hop artists I can't stand (Ludacris, DMX, Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Usher to name a few) but Eminem is by far the best rapper/hip hop artist I've ever heard and his music is definitely not bland poetry to me. He's sort of like a modern-day prophet for the hip/hop crowd I think because he's never afraid to tell it like it is and his backstory of being poor and bullied and dealing with all the stuff he goes through elicits a lot of sympathy from me. Plus the way he blends together different song styles into his raps makes him a genius in my opinion. Like I said I can't stand to listen to most people in his genre, but Eminem is completely different to me. His music is heartbreaking, emotional, and real, a true hip hop genius.

If you're not nice
Hip hop is what, 35 years old at this point? It's just as "yesterday" as rock music. Good music is timeless, and Jann Wenner might even agree with me once his staff tells him what music he should pretend to like this week.

I found out that next week our office will be moving to a building where we will be one flight below the studios of an AM radio station--that programs "classic hip-hop".
