Chose the first two Downey appearances as Tony. He really is the personification of Tony Stark.

Agreed. He's made it his - Tony Stark before him was a rather dour, second rate character in the Marvel Universe. Downey's portrayal of him is very much against "creator intent", more like a grown up Spider-Man. When did Iron Man ever wise crack in the comics? And Iron Man 3 is my favourite super-hero movie (tied with Winter Soldier, in case anyone was keeping score :D )
