Impossible to forget seeing the second plane live. The horror of knowing it was intentional was like nothing I ever imagined in my worst nightmares. It was amazing to see the City and country come together.

I was living in Seattle. I remember my sister calling me as I boarded a bus on my way to work. As we talked more and more cell phones started ringing, and I hung up because it became impossible to hear. It reminded me of this issue of Miracleman: I stopped into work for about 15 minutes and then left to check on family and friends. I got home just in time to see the towers fall.

I remember everything about that day as if it happened yesterday. It was very frightening and confusing for everyone.
Music and the like aside,. .there are REALLY important things in life. This event and this day are one of them.

I watched much of the horror in NY from the windows at work. Worst thing I've ever seen. I will never forget as long as I live.
I was checking in with ICE before making my way home. It was a helpful outlet to be in contact with other ICErs.

If you haven't yet, you owe it to yourself to visit the 9/11 Museum in NYC. It's not always easy to see, but it's a great way to remember.

Jim was at work and called me at my home in Maryland and told me to turn the tv on. It was after the second plane had hit. As I was trying to process this Jim says "the tower is falling!" I remember telling him something like- obviously this whole situation is out of your control. The only thing you can do is keep your wits about you and make your way back home. (on Long Island) He said he'd call me when he got home. A couple of minutes after he hung up the other tower fell. I tried to call him right back but the call wouldn't go through. For the next five or six hours I didn't know what to think, but I was really scared. I finally got a call from my dad saying he had made it out of the city before they closed the LIRR tunnels back to the Island. The thing I remember most about that day was worrying about my brother Jimbo.
