Second NGDB comp to be released in 2017. All of their charting singles were on either Liberty or United Artists, which I'm pretty sure are controlled by Capitol, so hoping for something more thorough than the Rhino set.

it's been a while since the last one

I wouldn't mind one last Circle session.

It was 17 years between 1 and 2, then 13 years between 2 and 3.

Not sure if there are any of the original guests(besides Randy Scruggs) still alive from the first one. I think Doc Watson, Jimmy Martin, and Earl Scruggs may have been the only ones on all 3(besides Randy).

i still put on 'dirt, silver & gold" every now and then

their first album (with 'buy for me the rain"), oddly, has never been on CD init's entirety as far as i know.

One could be excused for assuming "An American Dream" (1979) was by Jimmy Buffett.

The first two NGDB lps were sort of cobbled together in one release on cd.
I think the second lp was released in its entirety by itself.

I will have to check the cds to the lps.

This has been a thorn to completing their catalog on cd.

I'd like to see a release with all members past and present...sort of a Closed Circle cd...only members need apply...including Jackson Brown...and also family as I know some of their children are musicians...so if any members are reading this....

Makes me sad that the record companies via their cover art reduce Nitty Gritty Dirt band to orange crate art and Winnebago bumper stickers.
