She wrote her own songs! I convinced my little sister to go see her in the eighties because I wanted to. Still won't get the box set but she deserves one.

What have we done to deserve this? A 13 CD box set from our little Debbie Gibson?

I actually liked that Hallmark movie she was in last summer, and many of these songs I remember hearing on the radio back in the day. Heck, thanks to that movie I even tried out her Out of the Blue album from the library last year and didn't hate it. She sort of reminds me of how Britney Spears sounded on her first 2 or 3 albums. Nothing groundbreaking, but sweet and innocent.

I remember that there was either a real or media-created rivalry between Debbie and some other girl singer. Debbie was the nice innocent one and the other girl was the bad girl. Anyone remember her name?

Oh yeah. I think she was the one. Bad girl!

It was definitely Tiffany. I can't remember it being good/bad girl though, rather "two solo young female artists, so let's create a rivalry" sort of thing.

I say one thing about Debbie that stands out compared to the other teen idol girls, she wrote her own tracks and is an accomplished musician. And she is still is a cutie!
