Well, aside from the Shades box set, this is now the best comp out there. A shame nothing from the new album made it, but this must've been planned earlier. Nice to every studio album represented as well as all the non-album singles. I think The Battle Rages On and Slaves And Masters got shortchanged, but overall, very good. I have every album and I don't need it, but I love career-spanning comps for the car, so I'm in.

Nothing here I need. I'm close to catalog on Gillan & Coverdale.

3-CD version is appealing. I'm not a huge Purple fan, but the 1-CD compilation I have definitely doesn't cut it.

Too many radio edits on the 1-disc version. The 3-disc is the way to go.

Agree, if I can find a promo of this at my indie I'll get it.

Why does the single-disc version have the better artwork?

I'm sure I have everything on the 3CD set, but I'm not sure how many single edits I own. The collector in me is eyeing the single disc for that reason.

Better -- the pre-order price for the 3CD version has dropped by $3, and is now $26.99:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0742GSRM5/?tag=imwan-20 Reduced by a further $5, now it's $21.99.
Both editions have been pushed back a week to September 15th.

Deep Purple was pretty good the other night here at the Beach. Even the new material was very strong.

If that's all you own, I'd recommend Made in Japan to start. Almost the entire catalog is very good; but that one is to die for.

And of course 'Machine Head', must have played that 1000 times since it's release.

Yep, all of the original Mark 2's are must own in my book (+ Burn). In fact there's probably only 4 or 5 I don't like very much from their entire career. 2 of those are the 2 Mark 1's, 1 is Battle Rages On, & I'm not really into the studio Bolin period (though the live releases from that era are usually good).
