Evans seems to have always been recorded very well. The APO & Japan SACD's all sound amazing. This one is also out on a DSD download (file version of an SACD). The newer Oppos will play dsd, but mine won't. I unfortunately have to convert dsd/dsf to pcm which is said to degrade the quality a bit.

I may have to check out the Black Forest recordings, too. The samples sound great. This trio was one of his best, although the didn't last long.

This has been in my Amazon US cart since released, and finally snagged. Amazing, well worth seeking out
