Since Linda prefers anything not currently available on Amazon here................ Amazon says they will have it on 6/16. $27.41

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2W7GMP/?tag=imwan-20

Music Direct has it now, $30 - 20% sale ($24.00). Free ship at $50. No sales tax (I'm not going to buy this one, but I know we have PH fans here).

Mine just came in today. Procol Harum is such a great band. This will be played this Saturday for sure.

This will be interesting to compare with the excellent Mofi aluminum disc, their latest releases have been outstanding (Ry Cooder, Dylan mono, Knack)

Yeah, The Knack is excellent! The second half of the year MFSL will bring the first 4 Dire Straits in SACD. I will take Vacation day for that one!

Sounds like I'm in the minority; I've found that the "new" (not so new anymore) MFSL has a very signature sound (to my ears almost all of their SACD's sound sonically the same); & while it's better sounding than cd imo, imo they're the worst sounding of the big 3 USA SACD co's (MFSL, AF & APO).

Nah, two different worlds. MFSL, the Old World, as it was and the best of that recording is to be (in that form).

Wilson, The New World. So many wonders and enchantments. :ohyes:

I still prefer both AF & APO to MFSL.

My order of preference FWIW. All IMO of course.
1) Mofi - for sound and selection of artist
2) APO - sound and packaging (super jewel cases should be used by all three. No excuses.
3) AF - some decent titles but poor artwork, cheap jewel cases, and more QA issues (Blood Sweat & Tears, Sly and the Family Stone, Skynyrd, Doors)

Sorry, what are the QA issues with these titles?

Blood Sweat & Tears S/T and Sly Greatest Hits had issues with the channels, they were panned slightly left IIRC. Sly was corrected, BS&T was not. Skinnerd "Fancy" had a repeated note at the beginning of a track, Doors Morrison Hotel had digital pops, both of these were corrected but for the Doors you had to get the second replacement discs, the first was identical to the original.

I do buy from all 3 labels so I do share the "wealth".

I have about 7 or 8 different CD versions of this album and the best to these ears is the 2009 Salvo release, followed extremely closely by the 2015 Esoteric one. The two MFSL releases sound virtually identical and are both lacking in the mid-range. Whether this makes them more accurate to the original tapes, I don't know, but they definitely do not sound as good as the Salvo and Esoteric ones. This opinion is highly subjective and, naturally, your mileage may vary.
