Note that the above 2CD collection is intended to be a companion piece to Rhino UK's individual "Summer Of Love" comps for The Monkees and The Grateful Dead, both of which are also due out in July.

a pretty good representation of that summer, but i am trying to figure out a couple of these that don't seem to fit

jethro tull - living in the past - seems more like early 70's and had nothing to do with the summer of love

john mayall - uh, no

spencer davis - '66 i think, and not really summer of love-ish kind of tune

mitch ryder - also '66 or '65 and much like spencer davis not real summer of love-ish

jeff beck - uh, no again

bread - there are much better tunes by them to fit the theme and bread didn't even release anything until '69

anita kerr- ?????????????use the original, c'mon pay the extra bucks

Little surprised to see Velvet Underground as well - considering the theme, But not a bad collection.

Kind of a cool-looking comp, but some of these songs have nothing to do with the Summer of Love. Do the boundaries blur the farther away we get from 1967? I don't understand.

A victim of a lazy producer who may not even be 30 years old, no way these people were around in 1968.

I like this comp. Most of these don't do much for me but this one would get much play. Let's see what the U.S. price is to be.

It seems to be missing some KISS.

The VW van shown on the cover is not vintage 1967, but a later model, if I'm not mistaken.

If they can't be bothered to get the music from the right year, why would they get the cover right?
