I love Candy-O. I'm definitely in for it. "Night Spots" is the Cars Great Hit Single that should have been.

Not as fond of Panorama but perhaps this will get me to revisit it.

This came out of nowhere.

I got the box set last year and those were wonderfully done.

I have all the Japanese SHM-CDs and those were very good, although the Rhino box sounded better.

And now these with bonus cuts???

I assume the old 2 CD of The Cars will remain the version of that.

Hopefully Shake It Up, Heartbeat City and Door To Door will follow.

I know they don't have the rights to Move Like This.

Who would have thought there would be a deluxe version of Panorama before Heartbeat City... or any of the other remaining Cars albums for that matter?

I have the recent box set and that's good enough for me.

I will get "Panorama" for the extra songs. The "black sheep" of their catalogue and one of my personal faves.

And yeah, the box is excellent!

and... for those of you who don't know or don't recall,
the first run of The Cars 2cd set "Anthology - Just What I Needed" included an insert that reads as:

"Also, watch for the upcoming Cars Raw Hits rarities package from Rhino, Spring 1995."

of course, this never materialized; but i'm confident what we're about to hear now is part and parcel of what that set was to have been.

I like "Panorama" more than any of the albums that followed it.

Panorama is my favorite Cars album.........even over the first two.

There's not one bad Cars album.

Panorama is a good one but far from my favorite, as there's a few tracks that leave me cold.

I am surprised we're getting these expanded remasters as there was no talk about such a thing last year when the box set came out.

Maybe sales figures for the box set were strong enough to make Rhino feel it was worth dipping into the Cars catalog again

Although it is currently sold out and the secondary prices are high, I think the deluxe edition of the first album must have come back in print as well. I found a brand new copy at Waterloo Records in Austin last month, and as recently as last week amazon had brand new copies for less than $20. I guess Rhino really wants to put the Cars back in circulation!

i know i am like a broken record about this stuff, and i apologize, but they just keep finding "new" stuff to put on these things, i get it, it's all about the $$$$$$, and it's always at the expense of the real fans.

and yes i know that no one is making me buy them.

It's the first time these titles have been released with bonus tracks.
Panorama has only been issued once before on CD as an individual title (currently included in a full Elektra Years catalog box from about two years ago), and that has been out of print for about twenty years. Copies were going for $50 or so for a while.
I'm looking forward to these.

Remastered for the second time in last year's box set.

These are the same remasters as last year but now with bonus content.

Not a fleece at all.

so this is the 4th time these have been issued on CD......and now, after 2 re-issues and an inclusion in a box set, they suddenly have bonus tracks.

just sayin.

question:

the second time these were put out on CD they were HDCD encoded, are third time and this fourth time still carrying the HDCD encoding?

'panorama' has been out twice alone, the second time was the HDCD re-issues (see above)
