OK, I am salivating at both of these box sets, but...

Are these only going to be available in Australia?

The Oils are also reuniting for a massive world tour this year and will be playing the US (including Philly and NY in May!), so I'd hope so, but I'm not thinking so.

The price will most likely prevent me from being able to purchase these but I will hold out hope.

I've long wanted the DVD content, all the music videos, rarities, the EPs and the albums remastered and here it all is!

I pre-ordered. Cost me a pretty penny, but Midnight Oil always gets my money.

Sadly Australia's only major CD retailer JB HiFi have realised they 'are' Australia's only CD major retailer and have consistently put up their prices accordingly. I'd love to promote Australian business to my friends in USA but I'm sure Amazon will be cheaper. $300 is a joke for these box sets!

This just is not in my budget at this point (or any other point), but I will wait it out and see what happens way down the line.

I'm not sure if it's in my budget either. I might have to pick up some overtime in the coming months.

But the last time a musician I like put out a box set like this I passed on it, and then regretted it later, and now it is out of print. So I figured this time I'd go for it. The Oils are my number one favorite rock band (outside of classic 1960s acts anyway), so I figured I'd go for it.

But now you have me worried about playability. Eep! I might have to shell out for an Australian DVD player too, I guess ....

It might be Region 0 and you could be fine.

I love the Oils and I've seen them live twice and I need to see this tour.

I'd avoid DVDs from Australia unless you have an Oppo or a player that is PAL compatible.

I'm going to have to pass on the CD set for now and the DVD/rarities set I'll never get due to PAL.

Hoping to see them show up at Amazon USA, too.

And still no definitive word on the format and region coding of the DVDs. Lots of frustrated people in North American because of this.

The shows are selling out fast but I was able to get tickets for the Denver show, so I'm thrilled about that.

As for the box sets, they are too pricey for me. I usually watch DVDs only once and the only things that really interest me are the 4 CDs in the "Overflow" set. Sadly they haven't even released track lists for those yet. I will hope that those 4 CDs will be released separately some day and pass on the boxes for now.

Cool! I got tickets for the Portland one, and am planning to grab tix to Chicago too, when they go on sale tomorrow.

The USA links are currently under $300, and they say "NTSC" for the DVDs.

At the risk of revealing the depths of my ignorance: What does "NTSC" mean?

Box set prices have reached the point of insanity!

NTSC is the North American video format, so the DVDs in the box sets that are purchasable from Amazon USA should play fine for people in America and Canada.

Nice to see US releases.

$300 each is out of my range and I can't see the rarities and live CDs getting a separate release, so for now, I am going to have to miss out on these.
