A shame he gets so little visibility. This release and the past 7 or 8 albums have been excellent. Wish he would tour in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Last time I saw him play it was The Michael Stanley band in 1976. He opened for Kiss.

I love Michael Stanley. I grew up in the Cleveland area, and one the best shows I ever saw was Michael Stanley at the Front Row Theater in December 1984. The setlist for that show was:

Round And Round
All I Ever Wanted
Working Again
In the Heartland
I'll Never Need Anyone More (Than I Need You Tonight)
When I'm Holding You Tight
Why Should Love Be This Way
In Between the Lines
How Can You Call This Love
Promises
Let's Get the Show on the Road
Slip Away
Falling in Love Again
Midwest Midnight
Fire in the Hole
Shut Up and Leave Me Alone
Spanish Nights
Someone Like You
Lover
Somewhere in the Night
He Can't Love You
My Town
Strike Up the Band

The Front Row was a great venue....theater-in-the round that only sat 3200. The last row was only 59 feet from the stage, with absolutely no obstruction from any seat. The Front Row was where Roy Orbison played his last concert on December 4, 1988. He passed way 2 days later.

the front row was THE best place ever to see a show.

it's gone now, torn down for a dick's sporting goods store

i saw crosby solo there, right before he went to prison

nash solo to support his 'earth and sky" album, stood next to him at the bar and was afraid to say anything to him :( i was young then.

and al jarreau, for whom i sat in the fornt row, at the front row.

There was an excellent 3-CD compilation of his solo years released a few years ago.

and the 2 new songs on this are very good too.

for those of you who like good midwestern - blue collar rock and roll i can't recommend him enough

think seger/mellencamp/springsteen/petty all rolled into one.

he really should have been a big star.

Let's Get the Show on the Road is one of my all time favorite songs. Nothing else from him has hit me that hard, but I truly love that song.
